Learning Management System (LMS)
The Murdoch University Learning Management System (LMS) can be used by staff to create web-based units - either entirely online units or as an online supplement to a face to face unit.
A site is set up on the LMS for each unit offering requested. Staff access their online units from the LMS link on the Murdoch staff page. Unit Coordinators modify their sites to suit their teaching and assist student learning. They can publish lecture materials and other learning resources for their students and make use of the tools for communicating with students and providing learning activities eg quiz, self test and assignments. They can also provide links to resources such as Lectopia, ECMS, Turnitin and Wimba Classroom.
Students can use the Learning Management System to access learning materials and activities and to communicate with the Unit Coordinator and other students. Students access their online units from their MyMurdoch page.
Tools
You can use various tools to create, organise and deliver content in the LMS. A tool is a function that allows you to perform specific activities, such as creating quizzes and assignments, interacting with students, and providing content such as lecture notes.
