I'm a staff member, I've forgotten my Murdoch Password, what do I do?

You will need to attend the IT Service Desk counter (Level 2, North Wing, Library, Murdoch Campus) in person.

Take with you:

  1. Appropriate identification (eg. a Staff Identification Card, a Driver's license), with an identifiable photograph
  2. A Murdoch Password Murdoch Password Request Form (PDF)

NOTE: As access to this form has been restricted via the MAIS, you will need to ask another staff member to download and print the form for you. Complete the section titled 'Applicant's Details'.

The IT Service Desk staff will:

  1. Ask you to provide a Murdoch Password Request Form
  2. Ask you to display your identification (with an identifiable photograph)
  3. Access the Murdoch Password Change (staff) system
  4. Generate and print on secure stationery a new Murdoch Password
  5. Hand you an envelope with your new Murdoch Password printed inside and your name on the outside
  6. Advise you that you will receive email confirmation that your password has been changed (if an email address is registered with your name)
  7. Sign the Murdoch Password Request Form acknowledging that they have sighted the appropriate proof of identity, with an identifiable photograph, for the applicant, generated a new Murdoch Password on secure stationery and given the envelope to the applicant
  8. Retain the Murdoch Password Request Form as a record that you have received your Murdoch Password

You can use the Murdoch Password printed on the secure stationery, or if you prefer, access the Murdoch Password Change (staff) system and change the password to one that they find easier to remember.
