The Harry Butler Institute Honours Scholarships

The Harry Butler Institute Honours Scholarships provide support for projects that align with its vision of sustainable development and the co-existence of community, business and biodiversity.

Five scholarships are available

Value:

$4,500 subject to the ongoing acceptance and compliance with the terms and conditions of the scholarship.

Open:   Monday,  30th September 2019
Closes: Sunday,  01 March 2020

Payment:

Payment will be made in the following instalments:

  • $1,000 after the Semester 1 census date;
  • $3,500 upon the sucessful submission, and grading of your Honours thesis
  • $500 Travel to a conference or meeting relates to the area of study.
Eligibility:

To apply for this scholarship you must:

1. Intend to enrol full-time in one of the following Bachelor of Science (Hons.) courses:

  • Biological Sciences
  • Conservation and Wildlife Biology
  • Environmental Science
  • Environmental Management and Sustainability
  • Crop and pasture science
  • Marine Sciences
  • or Honours programs where the topic alligns with the values of Harry Butler Institute.

2. Undertake research in the area of conservation/environmental science or biosecurity in a project that aligns with the vision and mission of the Harry Butler Institute.

3. Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

How to apply

1 Download and complete the application form
2 Email the following documents to scholarships@murdoch.edu.au
  • Completed application form;
  • A sumary of your intended Honours project of no more than one A4 page
  • A personal statement of no more than two A4 pages outlining how your project aligns with the mission and values of the Harry Butler Institute.
  • The written confirmation from your proposed Honours Supervisor confirming supervison of your project
  • A written reference from a person qualified to comment on either your academic studies or current or past employment.

All applications are ranked against each other in a careful assessment of the information provided in the application form. Please ensure that you submit all of the required documentation and contact the Student Financial Support  Office if you have any questions.
