MUAEA: Domestic Postgraduate Students

The Murdoch University Academic Excellence Awards (MUAEA's) acknowledge and reward new students who have a record of high academic achievement in previous studies.

The Domestic Postgraduate category of the MUAEA's are awarded to commencing students with an average grade of 75% or higher or equivalent GPA in a Bachelor degree course prior to applying to a Murdoch University Graduate Diploma or Masters by Coursework degree.

Payment of the award will be made in two equal instalments, directly to the recipient's nominated bank account, as follows:

  • $1,500 after the census date of the first semester;
  • $1,500 after the census date of the consecutive second semester.

All payments are subject to the recipent's ongoing acceptance and compliance with the Terms and Conditions of the award.


To be eligible for the award, applicants must meet all of the below criteria:

  • Be commencing their first semester of study at the time of award.
  • Be enrolled full time (at least 9 credit points), or have exceptional reasons for studying part-time or external.
  • Have good academic record with an average grade of 75% or higher, or equivalent GPA in the Bachelor degree course prior to applying to the Murdoch University postgraduate course.
  • Give permission for your image and name to be used by the university in their media and publications and to co-operate with reasonable marketing requests for the purposes of publicity for the MUAEA Scholarship.

Please note that this scholarship is not available to students enrolled in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).

What happens next?

Applications will be assessed based on the information included in the application and scholarships will be granted to students that meet the eligibility criteria. In cases where there are more eligible scholarship applicants than there are scholarships to allocate, the scholarships will be awarded to the top applicants as ranked by the Admissions Office.

The outcome of the application will be advised by email and no further correspondence will be entered into.

The University reserves the right not to award scholarships if there are no suitable applicants.
