City of Mandurah Scholarship

The purpose of these Scholarships are to provide financial support to students from the Mandurah region who are intending to enrol, or are enrolled, full-time in an undergraduate degree at Murdoch University Mandurah Campus or at the Murdoch Campus.

Value:

$12,000
$4,000 per year up to 3 years

Closes:

Opens: Monday 1st October, 2018
Closes: Monday 4th March, 2019 4:00pm (Australian WST)

Payment:

Payment will be made in instalments of $2000 in Week 7 or 8 of each semester.

Eligibility:

To apply for this scholarship you must:

  • Student must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Student must be a current resident of the City of Mandurah.
  • Student must be a commencing an undergraduate course at Murdoch University (Mandurah or Perth Campus)
  • Students must demonstrate high academic achievement.
  • Student must be facing financial and/or personal hardship (e.g. documentation can include payslips, tax notice of assessment or Centrelink income statement).

Students must be able to demonstrate satisfactory academic achievement and be in good standing throughout the duration of the scholarship.

How to apply

1 Download and complete the application form
2 Email the following documents to scholarships@murdoch.edu.au
  • Completed application form
  • Academic record from school
  • Written reference from one or two people who are qualified to comment on your academic studies, including former employers, or appropriate members of the community who can verify your community involvement and or leadership characteristics.
  • Personal statement of no more than 300 words that outlines your personal or/and financial hardship (show evidence e.g. Payslips, tax notice of assessment or Centrelink income statement), personal skills examples of contributions made to the Mandurah Community and why the applicant would be a worthy recipient of the scholarship.
  • Show evidence of residing in the Mandurah region.

What happens next?

Your application will be ranked with other applications in an assessment of the combination of each of the eligibility criteria.
